Is it essential to provide wifi/internet to guests?

Oh my first three bookings - 2 did not ask for and were not concerned that there was no wifi, however one guest stated that it was a must for guests.

What is the main reason for it being a must? So they don’t use their phone data?

i have seen a few topics about guests getting refunds if the wifi plays up - this to me seems like something you have no control over and just a possible way to loose money on top of the monthly costs to have it.

I would love to hear what other people do and what their experiences have been.

thank you!

if you want business travelers during the week, wired ethernet is still very important. If that is too hard to do, perhaps consider MoCA as ethernet over the tv coax cable

Some guests want to work. I offer my guests unlimited wifi and they can throw Netflix or any other streaming they belong to.

I feel like it is a must, and many of our guests come from other countries in the world, so it's not reasonable to expect them to have a data plan that works here as well for a short term stay.

Also if a listing is missing WIFI, then I would also wonder what other amenities are missing! Like hot water, heating, air conditioning etc.
