Meet two Hosts who welcomed people fleeing Ukraine
Four days after Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022, Airbnb.org announced it would help 100,000 people fleeing Ukraine find temporary housing. Tens of thousands of you answered the global call to action by offering your space or donating funds. Forty government agencies and non-governmental organizations joined in the effort as well.
So far, we’ve helped connect over 75,000 people from Ukraine with places to stay, and that number continues to rise. We asked two of the Hosts who’ve signed up—one in Poland, the other in Germany—to share their stories. Both were moved to act because they saw people from Ukraine arriving in their cities. Both began hosting through Airbnb.org as a concrete way to help.
You can learn what it’s like to host emergency stays through Airbnb.org by reading their stories in the Resource Center.
