Address of space

Hi!

I'm a co-host, trying to figure out if my first guest will actually get the address of the accomodation! I thought it best we didn't list the address in the ad. The host says it will automatically be sent to guests - but I can't see where. We don't have it listed in "directions" that is sent once they book or anywhere else in the "guide".

I want to make sure it gets sent automatically!

Thanks

Hi @Siusan0

Go to the Listings tab and click the listing. Scroll to Location and click the map. Here you can see all the location settings and also check that the address is correct. Airbnb's Help article linked to the Location sharing section says "Your exact map location is available to confirmed guests".

But even though confirmed guests will have access to the address, I understand your concern. The fact that the information is available to a guest, does not mean the guest will find it. Many of us specifically share detailed directions in the message thread before arrival.

HI there,

So just to confirm, the address IS available to anyone looking at the ad (but like you say, not easy to find). But AirBNB does not automatically send it and I should send the address in a message before arrival?

Thanks very much!

Hi @Siusan0

Whether the property is shown in its exact location in the ad, depends on the Location sharing option selected. Many of us choose to show just the approximate location in the ad, but in both cases (actual or approximate location), the location will be available to confimed guests (after booking).

It's usually good to send a message before arrival as well (mine is 2 days before arrival) just to make sure they have all the arrival instructions and don't have any questions. If the guest misses or misreads arrival details, the problem has a way of showing up in your sub-category review in the check-in section!

@Siusan0

The guest will automatically receive the full address in their "Trips" tab after booking. As @Shelley159 says, many Hosts also send the address/directions as part of their check-in message with other detailed information; usually 1 day prior to arrival or the day of arrival:Joan2709_2-1739233814453.png

I suggest my Host clients choose the address privacy option in the location tab though. This prevents guests from seeing your last name, phone number and actual address during the 48hr free cancellation period. This is a security measure. This way, someone can't book simply to find the address of your listing, then cancel with a full refund.
