Availability Window

I just wanted the opportunity to address an issue that has left me very disgruntled. We have our Availability Window set for 9 months. To my understanding that means no one should be allowed to book prior to 9 months before arrival. However, twice in the past week, we received bookings in for September which is 10 months away. After calling Airbnb’s designated “SuperHost” support team, we were told that because we have “Instant Book” on (which is recommended), if any guest meet our booking criteria (ID verified, address, etc) they can book at any time. I am absolutely dumbfounded. What is the point of an “Availability Window”. I was told to manually block our calendar. Anyone else find this infuriating?

@Con-And-Mary-Ann0 I wonder if you had some specific dates selected as available, outside of your 9 month window, as I’m able to book Aug 29-Sept 1 right now. I shouldn’t be able to book anything after Aug 21. Whether by accident or glitch…glitches are notoriously common on this platform.

The info they gave you was wrong. Airbnb outsources it’s CS, so the reps are third party contract workers who know nothing about Airbnb and often dish out incorrect info. You may as well not even bother contacting CS.
