Calender management

I am searching for a function in the calendar management of our airbnb listing, that allows the selection of certain dates where check-out is possible, but check-in is not.

Specifically it's a question of a few days, where we are traveling ourselves. We want to make the airbnb available for the entire period, but make sure that check-in happens while we are in town to clean the apartment and receive guests. Blocking the nights will not allow our guests to stay in that period. Does this function exist?

Thanks!

If you turn on professional tools you can do exactly what you asked, by creating a rule and applying it to specific dates.

On the website version, go to menu, account, professional hosting tools.

Hello @Signe35, I hope everything is going well with you!

Have you considered turning on the 👉professional tools, as suggested by our experienced host, Shelley? Please let us know if you decide to do so and follow the step-by-step instructions she shared.

Looking forward to hearing if this works for you! 😊

Hi Signe,

Currently, Airbnb's calendar management doesn't have a built-in feature that specifically allows for blocking check-ins while allowing check-outs on certain dates. However, there are a few workarounds you can try:

  1. Minimum Stay Requirement: You can set a minimum stay requirement that encompasses the period where you want guests to stay without checking in during your absence. For example, if you're gone for three days, you could set a three-day minimum stay, ensuring no new guests check in during that period.

  2. Manual Blocking: You can manually block the check-in date. Block the night before you're unavailable for check-ins, and this will prevent new guests from starting a stay during that time. You will still need to unblock the dates for existing guests to stay, though.

  3. Custom Check-in Message: Include specific check-in instructions in your listing, stating that check-in is only available on certain dates. While this won’t technically restrict the dates, guests are likely to follow this guidance when booking.

Alternatively, you may want to use a third-party property management tool like HostAway or Guesty, which could offer more advanced calendar customization to suit your needs.

I hope this helps.

All the best,

Upfish Management

Professional tools is the built-in Airbnb feature that allows you to schedule check-ins and check-outs as you wish. It's not on the regular calendar, you have to turn it on in your account.
