Custom Trip Lengths

Hi Everyone, I hope you can help. Airbnb's Support Ambassadors find this one too difficult and shut down the threads without resolving the problem.

I have used the site since 2016 and like to think that I know what I am doing. In the past I have set 'Custom Trip Lengths' regularly without problems. However, now this happens:-

My normal minimum stay is 2 nights. This is the default I have set.

Over Christmas I wish to set a minimum 4 night stay, so I go into the 'Custom Trip Lengths', and do this. When I do this the other 4 lines (Sept-Nov 2021, Dec-Feb 2022, Mar-May 2022 and Jun-Aug 2022) ALL go to '4 night minimum stay'

If I try to change these 4 lines or click  'Remove' to get rid of them completely (why are they there in the first place?), I lose my 4 night minimum entry.

Any help would be really appreciated, because Airbnb don't want to know ...

Many thanks

Alex

.... What I am really asking is how do I force Airbnb to do something about this?

At the moment they give me some platitudinous crap and shut down the thread. This was the closing shot last time I tried to get something done:-

"I apologize if I'm unable to provide a favorable response on your concern. I understand that this is not the outcome that you are expecting, but we appreciate your understanding and kindness regarding this matter."

Hi Alex, i'm having the same problem. Airbnb is populating custom trip lengths for months in the future when i have not set a custom trip length. The issue still exists and @Airbnb has not offered a fix.

Thanks, Val

Hi Val.

I think there are glitches in the AirBnB system - which they are unwilling to investigate. I eventually found a way around my specific problem. My 'methodology' is to try absolutely everything possible until something positive happens (ie no methodology at all ...). And it means that when I get a favourable outcome I rarely know exactly which action had the desired effect! .... and this was two years ago ... From memory the only thing I remember is that it is vital at *every* stage of the proces to press the 'Save' or 'Save Changes' icon.

Best of luck!

Alex

I am having this issue as well. They will not go away when I click the remove button. I am so frustrated!

My tech issue, @Alex8193 , is that guests inputting an alteration to their dates are shown my prep days as days they can request. I want them not to see those as open so I don't have to keep saying no.

I have been asking for this fix since 2018. (Just looked at my twitter messages to confirm.)

Short answer is I don't know of a way to force Airbnb to fix anything on the site.  But it is good to ask here. Maybe someone has a workaround.

The workaround for my issue was to manually block prep days on top of the system block. Takes some time, but it's worth it. Hope there is one for you.

I have similar problem as outlined above: This is a disaster! Why does the 'Custom trip lengths' automatically create rules and destroys the standard availability settings and the specific rules entered in the calendar? Its really, really annoying!

Hi Aude

I think I may have found a way to deal with this .... but no promises!

Click on 'add another requirement' Once you have completed everything, duration etc, MAKE SURE YOU PRESS 'Save' before you do anything else ... especially if you are going to add any further requirements.

Best wishes

Alex
