FRUSTRATED.. Response rate decline

I am getting so irritated with AIRBNB ratings.  First I lost superhost due to cancellation.  The two cancellation were due to family emergencies.  Contacted customer service and was told I should have contacted airbnb to make the cancellation.  THEN today I see my response rate has fallen, which makes no sense.  I respond to all inquiries, I preapprove all request.  What I am noticing is that if I get a message from a guest that doesn't warrant a response, then I get dinged.  Why should I be dinged for a guest response of thank you...ERRRRRRR

NOW my listing are coming up farther down the list.  What is even worse is that the search is returning places that are 30-45 minutes from the cities in your search.  My listing are in Eustis Fl.. I should show up for Eustis and Mt Dora.  Well there are places that are in Orlando, Lake Mary, and Apopka.  These are farther away than my house and yet they are appearing after these listings.

Now I know why my occupancy rate is declining.  ERRRRR...

@Dawn162  The thing with your response rate sounds really strange, like some kind of glitch. Once you've initially responded to an Inquiry, that should stop the clock ticking. Is it possible that you haven't been clicking on Accept or Decline within the 24 hour window for Requests? If you are just answering requests without accepting or declining, that will certainly affect your response rate. (Inquiries only require a response, you don't have to either pre-approve or decline).
