Hosting Multiple cabins on one property!
Hello Hosts, we have a 5 acre farm property with two Airbnbs cabins that we started renting last summer for the first time. Our personal residence is also on our property.
Since it’s a new year we’re looking for other hosts in a somewhat similar situation regarding filing taxes. We’re trying to figure out whether to use Sch C or Sch E. We’re thinking after a bit of research going with Sch E because 1.) we don’t live in or use the cabins 2.) we don’t provide any services while guest are visiting. 3.) we only offer a 3 day maximum stay and usually both cabins are rented every weekend throughout the summer.
We’d appreciate any suggestions from others in similar situations.
Thanks so much 🙂

Definitely talk to an accountant as already advised. Airbnb does have a helpful Tax Guide for US-based Hosts, but makes it clear the Host is totally responsible for reporting and filing taxes and the Guide from Deloitte is just for reference:

Hi @David7097,
The view from your cabin is absolutely breathtaking! 😍 Since tax situations can vary, have you connected with an accountant familiar with short-term rentals?
I’ve also tagged a few hosts who’ve discussed managing multiple listings in the past who might be able to share their insights:
@Sharon1794 @Nicole3062 @Fred13 @Guy991 @Fathiyyah0 @Mike-And-Jane0 @Cristy37
In the meantime, you might find this page in the Help Center about Taxes to be useful.
Hope this helps!

Have you checked with hosts on your local host group on FB @David7097
Or speak to an accountant for help in filing your taxes .
