We are just opening up and this is causing us and our potential guests problems. When guests go to book they have to drop the guests back down to 16 to allow booking to proceed. This then leads to confusion and uncertainty.
Any thoughts on this?

Hi @Jillian208 !
Sage advice from @Helen3 !
I have read that Airbnb had planned to remove the limit of 16 on large groups as of July 2022, but not sure that has been implemented in all countries? The article about the "party ban" 16 guest limit being "lifted" is below. In the US, you can choose 16+ under the guest count, whereas we were not able to do that previously.

It will only cause confusion if you are trying to accept more people than Airbnbs maximum @Jillian208
This is against Aurbnb's T&Cs.
my thoughts are if you want to use Airbnb keep to their maximum guest count.
If your market research has shown your main market is groups of more than 16 then I would suggest your are better using other platforms for these bookings. There are three or four websites in the UK that specialise in large rental properties.
Hi Helen
Thanks for this info. I was unaware of Airbnb having a maximum.

The 16-person cap came about because the crazy scenarios that evolved from large gatherings in the U.S. The media relished reporting it and mentioning Airbnb specifically and the bad publicity that followed they certainly didn't welcome.
