Long term rental - How to?

Hey everyone,

We already Airbnb a tiny house situated on our property but my question is, we want to go traveling from 6 to 12 months and thinking of Airbnb-ing our house. How does one go about that? Does anyone here have experience with that? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Even pointing me where to start or links?

Kindest regards to all

Rick

@Rick4406 Very simple to do this - Just create a listing with a min stay of say 6 months BUT.... I personally wouldn't do this as there is huge risk involved of creating a tenancy with no proper contract or deposit. I would go old school and rent through a local estate agent with proper credit checks, deposits and contracts.

Thanks for responding. I keep hearing what you yourself is saying, but one of the issues I see is, where we live. We're pretty much sort of out in the bush but close to what we call, the village. There's virtually only houses and on shop, which is the store the grog shop the petrol station etc. One of the constant issues out here is always a few undesirables and stories of literally wrecking rental homes. Most in the villiage are on welfare or retired. How does one go about attracting professional people from out in the world as Airbnb would?

Hi @Rick4406 ! While other Hosts get back to you with some advice, I also wanted to share link to a few Resource Centre articles that brief about long term stays and what things to consider before doing so : https://www.airbnb.co.uk/resources/hosting-homes/s?q=Long%20term%20rental&p=1 .

Hope it helps add some more perspective while making a decision for longer stays.

Keep us posted how you progress with it. All the best🌻.

Thanks for that. Awful nice of you. From the research I have done to date, looks like we will most likely go private with contract and all the other caveats.

Thanks very much for your time

best regards
