John - Yes I have had long term stays who access a mailbox. We are also in a condo I wait til they request mail access and then have the mail key in a lock box in the unit. I share the code to said lock box when someone asks for access to the mail and then have my cleaners confirm it is back when they check out.
@John8740. How long is long term ie does it fall into tenancy rights? Check with your local rental laws but here you are required to provide access to a mailbox if requested. The lease sets out what keys are provided, and thus must be returned at end or fees can be charged for changing locks, new keys, etc. Another reason why bonds are always asked for.
