Hi, I'm Nico, and I'm just getting started with the Airbnb business here in the Philippines. This is all new to me, so I'm still learning the ropes. I'm really excited to host, but I could definitely use some advice from experienced hosts on how to make my place stand out and provide the best experience for guests. Any tips on managing bookings, setting up a great space, or anything else would be really appreciated. Looking forward to learning from the community. Thank you in advance.

Hi @Nicolai41 Thanks @Elisa
Sure thing @Nicolai41
Here’s what I did when I was new to hosting.
1. Price competitively, especially when you’re just starting out, rate your property a lil lower than your competitors so you can easily get the bookings you need.
2. Write a detailed and accurate description of your listing. Highlight everything your guests need to know about your property.
3. Pay attention to your photos especially the cover photo it’s the primary thing guests notice in search results.
4. Don’t cancel reservations. Airbnb takes cancellations seriously. Learn to manage your calendar, block off dates if you can’t host.
5. Interaction between guests and hosts is important. Make sure you don’t miss any incoming messages. Keep the Airbnb app on your phone and be sure notifications are turned on.
6. Think of delightful touches that you would appreciate if you travelled. Be thoughtful and creative to make your guests happy.
7. Add discounts so your property gets booked faster. As a new listing promotion, offer a 20% discount for first three (3) bookings, weekly discount for guests who book at least 7 nights, or monthly discount for stays of more that 28 nights.
Best regards and Happy hosting!

Hello Nico,
Welcome to the hosting community!
I remember when I started and it was quite scary and nerve-wracking but so worth it once you start getting the first guests in!
I use this website now to help with general questions I may have. It even generates descriptions and messages that reply to your guests' conversations. I found it helpful when I was first starting, and it took the pressure off which allowed me to focus on making my home more appealing to guests. I think there is a free trial on at the moment so you can try it out and see if its helpful to you!
