Hello @Harisha1 👋
Congratulations on your listing and a huge welcome to the Community Center! It's great to have you here with us.
I hope you don't mind, I added a photo and a link to your listing to your post. I'm hoping that with easier access, more hosts will pop by and support you with constructive and helpful feedback. 😍
Hey @Rebecca,
I sure appreciate you asking for my opinion. Heres a thought
It would be great to see before and after pictures of any updates that the people have done and if their airbnb rating has increased with our input and the changes they have done.
Just a thought.
Sylvia
Hello @Sylvia946 👋
That would be super interesting to see! And great validation for the support here on the Community Center from all these experienced hosts.
Perhaps we can check back in with @Harisha1 in a month or so, to see if things have improved or if they've had the opportunity to make any changes off the back of the advice here 😍
Thank you so much for your idea 💡
Nice to meet you~
To get straight to the point,
There's not enough photos to evaluatie ^^;;
And in case of me(as a host),
I pay as much attention to guest response (message, guidance, etc.) as I do to make my house pretty.
I hope you to help this massage.
Have a good day~
Hi Harisha,
Your listing is beautiful!
A couple of things I would recommend that stood out to me was adding professional photos, and ensuring your photographer gets imaging that have a “scroll stopping” impact that catches guest attention.
Lastly, I would change your headline to reflect either some attractions you may be located near, or some of the amenities within your home.
For example, my listing headline states FoleySportsplex|DowntownFoley|WalkingDistanceShopsandRestaurants
Other than those couple a things, I think you have a great listing!
Hello Harisha1, I think the listing has very nice photos, the space is beautiful I do think listing attractions or places is a good idea so people can plan to see things. Good luck.!!!
Congratulations for your listing, it looks really beautiful.
Choose a nice and strong name for it, that would be my recomendation, I think it is very important, something that people can remember easily.
Good luck from Tenerife!!!
Your home is very elegant. I thought it was a museum!
You might want to add some small side tables and such. Is there a dining area? The listing mentions a dedicated work space, but I didn't see a photo of that?
The listing says room for 10 guests, but I'm not sure I see where they would sleep? I see three bedrooms for 6 people?
I agree with adding highlights about the area you're in and things to do and see nearby. Maybe a couple of photos of the area would be nice.
Are you within walking distance of attractions or things to do? It helps to know how accessible things are. The on-site car park is terrific!
And yes, a stronger title would help. An elegant retreat OR An elegant oasis or something! Good luck with this!
Hello Harsha! Welcome to hosting. I am unfamiliar with other airbnb listing in India, but I will give you my honest feedback.
These are the items that I would add: Rugs in the living room, hallways, and bedrooms. Coffee table and side tables in the living room. Hangers in the closets.
Art on the walls will also soften the rooms and not make them appear stark.
Amenities- there are 12 listed. I would expect a full kitchen. Meaning utensils, pots and pans, coffee maker, some coffee, tea, and sugar on hand. Is water good right out of the tap? Are their dishes and glassware?
Also, what about soaps and shampoos?
I know it is a long list, but all of these things keep guests coming back. We have an airbnb that has become an annual trip for several families, so I know that attention to these things makes a difference.
Onward and Upward!
On top of everyone else's comments I would also suggest adding more amenities, are towels and blankets available? Most guests are looking for a comfortable bed after a full day of exploring. I would reflect that in your pictures.
I would suggest offering shampoo and body wash, these are not items guests want to pack especially with luggage rates going up and weight limits going down.
Mention if your home is self check in with a code or if they have to meet you for a key. I also didn't notice check in or check out time.
You mention there is outdoor dining space but I don't see that in the pictures.
Also did not notice any table to eat meals at. The very least you should add a table in front of the couch.
Good luck hosting and welcome to the Air BNB community.
Greetings, Harisha,
Your listing has a lot of potential, but as both a host and a traveler, i’d love to share my thoughts with you.
1. First of all, I don’t see any bedside tables. Travelers use them for essentials like medicine, a glass of water, or charging their phones. Adding them would greatly improve convenience.
2. Secondly, the living room looks lovely, but there are no tables. Again, guests need a place to set down their belongings, whether it’s a laptop, a glass of wine, or just their everyday items.
3. I also noticed a room where the bed frame isn’t set up yet. Please make sure the bed is properly assembled and take new photos.
4. Lastly, your parking space photo's one of them has trash under the wheel, which doesn’t leave the best impression. Also, since some guests might misunderstand, it’s better to take photos of the parking space without a car to avoid any confusion about whether the vehicle is included. This will save you from unnecessary refund requests.
As a host, it’s important to always keep in mind that real people with everyday needs will be staying at your place. They will sleep, cook, eat, use the toilet, take a bath, and enjoy their stay in every way. I truly believe Airbnb gives us the opportunity to provide travelers with a home away from home. Making them feel comfortable and welcome by covering all their basic needs can make all the difference.
Hope this helps, and wishing you great success with your listing!
I think first what can you comfortably market at what price? I am already wondering 10 people but only 3 bedrooms. Them it says 2 beds? Doesn't sound inviting. 5 people per bed.
Hello Harisha, you have a very nice property. We just need to make sure it sounds and looks inviting. The photos for the most part are nice. My critique is that there are some that make a space look small and cramped. Close up photos may be the culprit as the wider shots give just the opposite impression. I would add to your description regarding why I would want to be your guest. You mention it is near the city but in a more quiet area. Explain what makes your area attractive along with other reasons I would want to visit. Are there local attractions such as quaint markets, opportunities for entertainment like hiking, sports or performance arts. You are very close to having a great listing. Good luck.
Hello @Harisha1,
I was challenged to give some tips here, so here it goes!
First of all, the house looks very nice! It's also nice to see some things that are different from where I live in because of the different cultures, so that is good to keep!
Things I would take in mind:
- Bedside table. It's not very expensive and it comes in really handy for people that wear glasses and like to read in bed at night. My eyesight is really bad, for me putting the expensive glasses on the floor is a nono, I could put them further from the bed, but still...
- Photos. I see you have an unfinished bedroom and stuff under the wheel of the car, which makes me believe these are not your final photos. If they are, then I suggest professional photos, also because the vertical lines are not straight in most pictures and the exposures are not the best. I'm a photographer, I can understand it's to show the ceiling, which is interesting, but a good photographer will capture it along with the rest.
- Your first picture is not the best and it's the picture everyone will see first, hence being the most important one. The outdoors look super nice, I would leave that one on the first 5.
- To finish with, the house is super big, I think adding some plants or paintings would make it more cosier and less empty, but it's up to taste and concept.
Mine has 0 paintings because the walls have an old texture, has dry plants from the backyard 🌾, some glass 🍶, pottery 🥣 , rocks 🪨 and shells 🐚, which fits the concept I wanted for the house.
- I can't really evaluate the pricing since it depends on offer, demand, your business costs and your values, so that is a big study for you to do.
I hope all this helps you anyway, even if it just gave you another idea.
Good luck from Sagres, Portugal! 🌊 ☀️
