Same day turnover

Same day turnover

What listing/calendar settings are needed to permit same-day turnovers (to allow a booking for a stay that starts on the same day that an existing booking ends)?

@David531 First, are you sure you want to do this? There can be all kinds of complications if guests don’t check out on time, if the place is left filthy and/or damaged, or if you or cleaners are unable to finish cleaning in time allotted.

If you still want to proceed, make sure checkout time is set to 10am and check in time is set to 3 or 4pm. Hopefully, you don’t have a large rental and this will at least give you 5-6 hrs cleanup time. Also, make sure 1 day advance notice before and after a reservation is not checked.

Good luck.

I am an experienced host so yes I am sure but thank you for pointing out the potential pitfalls with same-day turnovers.   My listing settings are:

Minimum stay:  3 nights
Advance notice:  Same day, until 5:00 PM
Preparation time:  None
Instant Book:  off
Check-in window:  2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Checkout time:  10:00 AM

I have 3 consecutive nights which I want to accept booking for but on my calendar they are gray.  The first two show "Minimum stay" and all three are flagged as "unavailable" (not blocked).  For some reason, I am not able to make them available on the calendar.  I thought it might be because the system thinks I cannot accept a same-day turnover and thought I might have a setting wrong to make the system think that.

@David531 go to incognito and check . I think the calendar just looks like that because the morning of the day is actually booked. When a guest tries to book that day it will come up as 'checkin only ' or checkout only as the case may be . the calendar cannot show an empty day when a person leaves on that day. H

Airbnb calenders show availabe nights to book (not days).

If the upcoming night on a specific date is available to book,lt will not change the availibility of it in the calender when a guest checks out on that same date.

@Emiel1 no but it does 'grey' it out which is what David is talking about especially if you are also taking bookings from other sites , some of which also still have mandatory minimum times between cleans .H

if it says "minimum stay" it means there are not 3 consecutive nights (your minimum stay setting) available to book. And if there are from today(!) , you are looking at the calender after 5 pm (cut off time for same day reservation). Or maybe you have set a custom minimum stay (longer then 3 nights) for those dates ?  If you use the multicalender, it is easy to check by clicking in the minimum stay time period.

Thank you for your suggestion.   There are "Minimum nights by check-in day" set (also

Restricted check-in days:  Not set)

(This screenshot is the listing calender, not the multicalender)

Try:

Select 4 october only and make date available.

If you have set "mimum stays by check-in date", then check conflicting setings

I've tired:  nothing happens except the calendar flashes for a moment.

I do not have any "minimum stays by check-in date" set.minstay.png

@David531

You own 2 listings, so why not use the multicalender ?

It has much more options.

The problem is the 4th of october: date is not available.

(therefor 'minimumstay" blocking on 2 and 3 october is correct: only 2 nights available instead of 3)

And when calender is retreived after 5 pm, it will probably change to "minimumstay" stamp only on 3 october.

I can not see on this calender why 4 october is not available, but probably use of multicalender will show it or have option to correct it.

Thanks for the suggestion but I am a co-host on the of the listings (which is owned by a friend who needs my help managing his listing sometimes) and per online help "You can only link calendars for listings that have the same primary Host. Co-Hosts can't link calendars."

It is a mystery why Oct 4 is unavailable.  I have no synced calendars so it's presumably not a sync issue.

Strangely, the airbnb smartphone app calendar shows all 3 dates open but when I select them they all all flagged as "unavailable".  If I attempt to make Oct. 4 available via the smartphone app it briefly shows the message "availability updated" but nothing changes.

@David531 sometimes they block temporarily as a new booking is in process but back to the desk top for a true picture . Add start and finish dates incognito if you can , but can you do that on the App ? H

@David531 updates on the phone can take a while but as a co host you possibly have no access to multiple parts of the listing. H

For this listing, I am primary host.  App disagrees with website (and itself!).
