Hi everyone! I have always been the type to want to reach out to each guest individually with check-in/other info. However, with the new tools available with the scheduled responses/quick replies for hosts I figure it's probably better and more efficient.
My question is - is there any way to preview how it looks before sending it off to the guest? I have just a quick 'thank you/booking confirmed' message saved and ready to go. Just wasn't sure if there was a way to see as a test run what the guests are seeing.. make sure it looks and feels still personalized. Maybe an unnecessary question - but figured I'd drop it in here.

@Natalie1104 Firstly, to answer your question, I don't think you can see the message before it goes. Now on the subject of scheduled messages they may be efficient but they are impersonal. We always thank our guests for booking with us and send directions a few days before their stay. Two simple messages BUT for a late booking guest it makes no sense to send two messages. Also in our directions message we restate our check in times and ask roughly what time people will arrive. Now in 20% of cases we have to edit this message as the guest has already volunteered when they will arrive. This is clearly not possible with a scheduled message.
To make things simple we have all the standard text in a Word document that we then copy into the Airbnb message whereupon we edit as required.

You bring up a great point! Whether the guest responds or just does a quick once over on my messages, I prefer to have them read as personalized as I can. I have been toying around with the idea of scheduled messages but, like you, have always fell back on my good ol copy and paste and adjusting information as needed to each guest.
Automated is great when it can be effective, I’ll just have to find that sweet spot if I choose to use that function. Appreciate your response!
Hi @Natalie1104
Many Hosts don't send a Scheduled Message after booking, as sometimes guests ask a question in their first message that you won't see before the scheduled message is sent. As @Mike-And-Jane0 said, you can create a Quick Reply though and modify it before sending if need be before sending. I agree with @Mike-And-Jane0 that you should keep all your messages and sections of the listing in a Word document just in case. I have actually deleted an entire House Manual by accident on the listing and didn't have a backup copy on my computer! 😭
You can also use the + sign next to a message and send a scheduled message early, or cancel it if you like. I believe you can preview/edit the message also before sending it. Just go to your in box to the last guest message and click the plus sign:
Thank you Joan!! I like that everyone seems to have a system (like the Word doc/copy and paste) in place. That is what I have used in the past, but always looking to see if I can improve. 😊
Hello @Natalie1104, I hope everything is going well.
I just came across your post and noticed great suggestions from Joan and Mike. Please let us know when you have the time to read them.
All the best,
Hi Paula! I see the messages now, and greatly appreciate the Airbnb community!
