Hi All,I'm new the short term rental hosting community. We have a beautiful, large property located directly on Lake Erie in ...
I have a booking that went thru, but it is the wrong price. I had wanted to give them a special offer. What do I do now.

Hello @Ron11698 👋
I found this help article that may explain how to send special offers: Sending special offers
However, it does say that it's sent before the booking goes through.
I'm tagging in some of our experienced hosts that may be able to offer some further support too: @Thomas3789, @Joan2709 and @Zachary289 have you got any ideas if you can offer a special discount after a booking has already gone through?
Unfortunately if you have set the wrong price on your listing then you will need to honour it. You can't ask for a price increase @Ron11698
Hello! Inside the reservation itself, if you scroll down there should be a "change reservation" button. If you click it, it will take you to a page that you can manipulate both the dates and the price. Then you send it to the guest for review. They can either accept the changes or deny them. I have used it for everything after booking and even after check in, from sending deep discounts to friends and family, or to extending a stay for weather or bereavement. Both parties must agree to any changes. Hope this helps answer your question.
Yes I know that but how would it be fair to try and increase the price you charge when guests booked with you in good faith at the price you advertised at @Joshua1127
1. My response was to the original post that was asking how to send a special offer after a booking has been requested. Unless I'm reading it incorrectly know where did he say that he wanted to increase the price. The information that I was sharing was specific to extending A reduced price after booking.
2. I have actually found there are several reasons why someone would increase a price after a booking. The protection is it has to be accepted by both parties. One such reason would be if your guest let you know that there was going to be a pet and if you charge an extra cleaning fee for a pet. That would indeed be a scenario where you could change the price legitimately to a higher price than originally agreed upon.
3. After reviewing the settings on the original posters listing, he probably did not see the offer special deal button, and is now trying to extend a better price to his guests. Which would then revert back to the instructions that I gave.
As per what @Helen3 says, if you use Instant Book, you will have to accept the booking at the price on the calendar as the booking is automatically processed. However, I see both your listings are request to book? Did you mistakenly accept the trip request before checking your prices?
When someone sends a request to book, and you want to offer a different price for the booking, use the "Send Special Offer" button on the request.
If someone sends an inquiry, use Send Special Offer as well if you are done vetting the guest:
Be sure to include your total price plus cleaning fee (and any other fees) in the total on the Special Offer. Airbnb will then take that number and add their service fee and any taxes that apply.
