Different guest names

I noticed on a few inquires we received that the name in their reviews is different from the name in their profile. Are these safe to accept?

example: we received an inquiry saying jessica wants to book your property. When we went to check Jessicas reviews it say Sean and group were great guests.

Hi @Worthy-Living-Co0

What you describe has happened to me a number of times. Like you, I also always find it quite confusing when I see a difference between the account name and the name mentioned in reviews! To me it looks like it happens when the person changes their username at some point.

I recently had a guest who booked under a male name, and I addressed the person by that name in my messages. She then told me that the account was in her son's name (the son was also coming on the trip). All went well and by the time I received their review, I noticed that they had changed the account to reflect her (the mother's) name. So she is now one of those guests who will have a review from me that states the son's name in my review text, but the account is showing her name.

@Worthy-Living-Co0 Sometime the name is made as a third person booking. It might be their partners or family member.

I overcome this by asking for all names for registration please and the age of children. Sometimes i receive a message saying that it is for their parents aged in their 70's and I ask if they are staying. Or I ask for their names to be added as guests. That way they receive the all the messages, and it covers me for my private insurance.

In my case, it's happened a few times that people use their membership for third parties, and when I ask them questions, I discover it's actually to host their friend or a close relative. I then tell them to register on Airbnb to stay there.
