1099 errors

I am getting very frustrated, I have been trying to get my 1099-k corrected since 2/3/2025 so I can do my taxes. I call/ message thru site where they constantly close the case because there is one pending.  I still have not spoke to anyone from Airbnb who actually knows anything about the error and I have not had any sort of answer if and when it will be corrected!  Two payouts and each party was to receive 50% each - which they did - Airbnb incorrectly reported everything and the two 1099-k are completely wrong!

Does anyone know of a phone number to their accounting department - where they will answer and speak to you. I was told each time I call that someone will contact me, WHEN??

I would appreciate anything anyone here can contribute to help ..... Help please!

Thank you

@Marylynn12 Can you not just explain to the IRS that the Airbnb 1099K is wrong? In the UK a quick call gets you a nice person at HMRC where I would just explain that the Airbnb figures are wrong and I am using different figures leaving them to sort it out with Airbnb.

My 1099 form is also incorrect and no one at Airbnb will answer my questions about it or correct it for me.

Last year, my form was also incorrect.

I was able to file my taxes last year but I had to fill out a form basically stating that my 1099 form from Airbnb was incorrect.

I am still waiting on this year in the hopes Airbnb will take accountability for their mistake and issue me a new one but I don't have a lot of faith at this point. It's kind of pathetic how bad Airbnb is about this.

You are not alone. My host and I have been working with AirBnB for 2+ Weeks to resolve the issue. I received a 1099-K that represented the income from all the rentals my host manages, rather than just my property. We both have open cases, since he didn't receive a 1099-K at all. The responses he gets are primarily links to AI instructions that don't work, and AirBnB hasn't reached out to him since Friday. I get responses from a person named Britney based in Dublin who keeps saying only my host can resolve. It is an endless death spiral of ineffectiveness at this point. We  have exchanged over 40 e-mails and messages with AirBnB. We have reported the problem to the BBB and AirBnB's Feedback Link.  We will be reporting AirBnB to the IRS on March 1. BTW: the 1099K was $53,000 over the income we received. Imagine what THAT does to a tax return.
