Air BnB deducted extra €38 from my account without any justification.

I booked a room in Germany from my partner (Sarah) on the 1st of December 2024 which on the website cost 234 including the charge from Air BnB but I my account has been debited with an additional €38 which i don’t know the reason.

I therefore, seek refund for this deduction and better explanation to this.

thank you!

Hello @Ayuba2

A possible reason is that this is due to a currency charge that Airbnb now deducts from guest payments where the currency of the country you are visiting is different to your local currency.  Here is an Airbnb link that explains this surcharge (if applicable to your case of course):

On your booking confirmation it shows a break down of any costs incurred for your booking @Ayuba2

I could be the airbnb fee , a cleaning fee or something else .

if it's not clear check with the host or Airbnb.
