I have a new listing and our 7th guest brought in a dog and left it alone for 2 hours and the dog tore up our flooring. It's vinyl sheeting so requires the whole flooring to be replaced, which is almost 400sqft. I had two quotes come in, both just over $3000. AirBnb came back and offered just $15!!! 

I can hardly believe how low they came back with. Is this typical? It's literally the first time I've ever put in a claim for anything (I've had another listing for several years).

$15 wont cover the cost of glue... tell them to be serious,

On the other hand, whomever gave you these quotes,

it works out at >$80/ per square metre, isnt it a tiny bit high?

Exactly, I did tell them $15 was insulting.

Both quotes seem reasonable to me, with the amount of work involved. 

They have to scrape up the old flooring and glue, and put the new one down, along with add new trim etc.

The cheapest flooring that size comes in at around $500, but then there's the trim, glue, and labour all on top of that.

@Griselda26 ow old was the flooring? Airbnb only pay a depreciated amount under their terms.

it's possible 5 years, we just bought the house so don't know.. but it was in excellent condition
