British Columbia Taxes

I am in need of some serious help! I don't think my tax settings are correct, I really don't know why my guests are paying so much taxes!

Can someone help me understand this. I have been a host for 7 years and always added the tax into my price. But I have now added my GST number and the taxes are outrageous. I'll include a picture of a reservation. Thank you!

Hello @Daniel13755,

Have you tried reaching out to the support team for assistance with your specific case? If so, what did they say?

I have, it has been a bad experience to be honest. Said they would get back to me and never called back. It seems most of the people I spoke to didn't understand this issue or know how to find the answers

Hey Dan, I"m in a similar situation to you. I think because you have GST number attached to your listing Air BNB IS NOT collecting GST and remitting it for you. You are using the property use tax to do that for yourself.

I look at the payout summaries of each of my bookings and I don't ever see GST being collected by Air BNB (even though they said they do do this).
