Chicago: Block on one and two-night stays extended to June 30th
"We recently reached out about the Health Commissioner’s order in the City of Chicago that requires hosts to stop accepting new one and two-night reservations until May 31, 2020. Since then, the Health Commissioner has updated the order to extend through June 30, 2020.
Here’s what’s changing:
•
Airbnb hosts must cease accepting new one-night reservations. To help you comply, we’ll be blocking calendar availability for one-night reservations in Chicago from June 1, 2020 to June 30, 2020. You can still host stays longer than one night after June 1.
•
One-night reservations from June 1, 2020 to June 30, 2020 must be cancelled at this time. We’ll contact guests to communicate this information and cancel any reservations on your behalf. Guests will receive a full refund.
•
If you hosted first responders through the Frontline Stays program, their bookings won’t be affected. If you’d like to host COVID-19 responders in your community, you can sign uphere.
You can find more information abouttravel restrictions and advisoriesin the Help Center, or check out theResource Centerto learn more about how we’re supporting our global community during this difficult time."
While Illinois is entering "Phase 3 - limited opening", Chicago is still running behind in terms of numbers of Covid-19 cases. We expect some limited opening as of June 3rd e.g. restaurant patios. some non-essential workers, personal services, etc.
