@Steven1661 I did not have to send AirBnB any proof of insurance when I listed with them.
I do believe that a homeowner should have their own insurance I think of AirBnB proferred insurance as "supplemental" to my own policy.
My reasoning: If you have an AirBnB guest, then you may be covered by AirBnB. If you have a guest from another source, how are you covered in the event of damages?

You wouldn’t need to have home owners insurance to get air cover from Airbnb. But my advise is to get homeowners insurance through Lemonade. They are very affordable and service is great.
@Steven1661 Just be aware that Airbnb's cover (apart from the liability bit) is not insurance so it is not a great idea to rely on it. Also it does not cover the property when there are no guests so if the place burnt down between guests or thieves came in between guests you would be left very out of pocket
