Hair shed by cleaners

Do any of you have any issues with the cleaning crew leaving their own hair and not realizing it? Do you have them wear a hair net? My current cleaner "sheds" black hair and unless I open every bed after she makes them, I cannot tell. Trying to find a solution that does not involve asking her to shave her head or find another job 😅

Ask her about a solution @Inna22

@Helen3 the cleaner? Ask her if I should fire her? 😁

Don't be silly you said you were trying to find a solution so I said ask her (as she's causing the issue) where did I say you should ask her if you should fire her @Inna22

Clearly not worth to try to help you on this community 🥲

@Helen3 let’s break this down. She’s shedding hair. Do we think I’ve noticed this and kept it to myself, never mentioned it to her? We are assuming if I am involved enough to make my way to this group for the question, I opened my mouth and said something to the Cleaner. And  at that point, do we think if the Cleaner had a solution they held it to themselves? Or do you think if the Cleaner had a solution they would’ve said something because their job is on the line? Further, do we think that, barring some exceptions, somebody who goes to work as a cleaner is a type who actively seeks solutions to problems, proactively solves them, etc. or do we think that somebody who goes to work as a cleaner is generally a person who would need direction from the boss?

Further, do we think that fining staff is a great way to retain them? or do we think they will do is start looking for another job and just quit on me without a notice?

All of this combined, and to answer your question, yes, go ahead and help me if you have processed your thoughts before you posted them.

if you just want to post random thoughts, I don’t mind that at all, this is a discussion board, we can just be discussing things. But then don’t expect me to choose Your advice as best answer. And honestly, it doesn’t really have to be! We’re here to just talk about things.

@Inna22  I do my own cleaning, and at a minimum I always have my hair up in a clip. Sometimes I wear a bandanna, like one of those 50's housewives with a scarf on their heads!

I don't think it unreasonable AT ALL, to ask her to wear a hair covering. If she's unwilling, then she's not worth it.

Also, have you ever thought about incentivizing your cleanliness ratings with a bonus for her? Like X number of 5* cleanliness ratings gets her X reward? It shouldn't be necessary, because she is paid to clean to a 5* standard, but you'd be amazed at what a bonus can do to motivate people.

Yeah....hair's kind of a deal-killer when you arrive to a hotel or an AirBnB. One's own hair is fine, somebody else's is just yuck. Hope you get this figured out.

@Inna22 P.S. I also check my clothing for stray hairs, and sometimes just grab a freshly laundered top so I know it's hair free.

@Kia272 I toyed with a thought of bonuses a couple of years ago. Not sure why I did not do it. I have had an amazing cleaner for several years who I paid quarterly bonuses, gave healthcare etc. I will try that!
