Hosting airbnb in apartment

Hi I am currently the owner and using airbnb for renting out my apartment in Southbank.

The building manager told me today that we are not allowed to use airbnb to host guests but that doesn't sound right as there are a lot of airbnb listings.

Can someone guide me to an article or any information that I can show the  building manager that I am allowed to host given I own the apartment?

@Phillip247  Whether you own an apartment or condo is irrelevant and there aren't some generic laws allowing you to list it on Airbnb. Apartment buildings, condos and HOAs have their own specific rules. I'd ask to see the rules that say you aren't allowed to Airbnb it. Just because you know of others doing it doesn't mean it's not against the rules.

Presumably before you started hosting you checked your lease to see if you are allowed to carry out STR in your apartment block? @Phillip247 

If so just confirm to the manager that there is nothing in your lease that precludes this.

If you didn’t do this and your lease excludes STRs you will need to stop.

How did the building manager know? Were there complaints about your guests??
