I hope all is well with you! Being new to Airbnb, I was very excited to list my property. However, it only allows me to do long-term rentals, which is unexpected... There are some other valid listings around my place, but how do they get approved?

Hello @E82 

You need to have a look at the STR regulations for NY on your city government website. 

There have been lots of illegal listings offering STRs in New York for some years but the city is cracking down on these through the introduction of a licensing system.
