Local hotel taxes

I am trying to figure out if Airbnb is collecting my local hotel tax and distributing them. My local area is the city of Peoria, Illinois. 

Also, if they are not I am unable to find a local tax section to add said tax manually.

First check your listing and review your tax collection settings. Make sure it is selected for Airbnb to collect this tax for you. If so, then all the tax collection, remittance and reporting is between Airbnb and the tax authority. If you absolutely need to have more control over this process, or if you have any doubt about Airbnb's remittance of the taxes, you may want to consider collecting the taxes yourself from Airbnb and remit them yourself, which you can do by setting up custom taxes in your Airbnb listing.

My city has yet to work with Airbnb to collect the tax so I must do it myself. Airbnb currently collects and remits my state tax so Ive added my own city tax and now working on keeping the tax they already handle.
