Los Angeles FORESEEABLE PROBLEM with 120 capped days

I'm starting to see a problem develop with LA's new home-sharing policies now that they are capping days at 120. A lot of people have been asking for discounts because of Covid-19, typically because they are paying rent somewhere else. But as hosts, if we want to choose our 120 days wisely, why wouldn't we wait until this is over and host again when rates might normalize again. If there wasn't a restriction on days, then hosts would be more likely to lower rates and make more places available and affordable during this hard time.

So now hosts might deny people asking for discounts because we don't want it to count against our 120 days. I realize you can apply for an extension ($850), but that's not guaranteed to go through.

Anyone else see this as an issue?

It's an issue all right, especially since the city office gave up on issuing the extended licenses due to the pandemic.
