hi my name is Elizabeth I have managed an Airbnb before for someone else's property. I do not have access to a property myself now. Has anyone been successful in asking apartment complexes, condos, Etc in renting out their unit for short-term rental purposes? Most places have been declining and I don't want to rent a place and list it on airbnb without permission.

Most landlords don't want to allow their properties for arbitrage.

There are arbitrage groups so you're probably better asking on one of those  @Elizabeth3697
