Pet Fees reimbursement

We have a pet friendly property and are frustrated with having to charge a customer with pet(s) after they have checked in, through the “request money” link.  Our guests cannot accept a money request through their App and have to access the Resolution Centre to accept the fee request which is an additional inconvenience to them.  I have asked Airbnb to place questions on their initial guest reservation page that could eliminate these payment problems and hope that other Pet Friendly properties will also express the same suggestions through their Feedback Page so that they can resolve this issue on their end. They only need to place 2 questions on their Reservation page:  1. Are you traveling with your pet(s). 2.  How many?

Then the pet fees are included in the guests total cost at the time of their booking, not after the fact.  Some guests don’t let us know about their pets until they arrive as there is no place to inform us through their reservation.  If there is a special question about pets on the initial reservation page, guests will be more inclined  to check out the House Rules and Fees relating to pets and won’t be surprised on arrival.

Agree with you. The resolution center is complicated and many guests can't or don't know how to access it on the phone. The easiest way is to collect it personally on arrival but it's a problem for hosts with self-check-in.

Hosts are asking for a pet fee option on ABB for years but to no avail. Nobody understands why is Airbnb so stubborn about it.

Hello @Marsha143

We’re really pleased to share some details with you that were recently announced! In the coming weeks, Hosts will be able to add a Pet fee to their listing.

We have been listening to Host feedback, just like yours, so please do let us know how you like the new service by sharing your thoughts here on the Community Center once it has launched.

Thanks again,

Quincy
