Phoenix Summer Time hosting

Hello. I'm new. Started in January. I host a private room in Chandler, Suburb of Phoenix AZ. Peak season around the corner, hoping it to be good during Baseball preseason in valley.

However, I've been told that after that, the summer months May-July, are a real struggle for hosts. I've been told no one uses AIRBNB during the summers in Phoenix.

Have local hosts here familiar with the weather, found it difficult? Has anyone found success in the summer months in Phoenix AZ?

@Derek506 what is your target market? If its holiday makers then there will be a seasonal element. If it is people coming to work then it will be far less seasonal.

Thanks for comment. I haven't really considered targeting specific people. People visit Phoenix, which gets hot during the summer time, for many reasons.

Of my 3 guests, one was here to get out of OH's cold, one was here on bsnss from Vegas, and one was here to see if it's worth moving.

However, it's not summer yet. Just trying to prepare for what to expect. Mid to late Feb is start of Spring for us as temperatures slowly rise. We'll see 100 by mid of May, and 120 peak by late July.

@Derek506 so would judge 2 of the 3 are not seasonal.

Hey @Derek506 ,

Welcome to the Community Center! How is the potential peak season going so far?

I like how you are thinking ahead and trying to make changes and preparing for a slow season in advance.

Did you find any additional info on lessening the effects of the summer slump in your area?

We have 2 homes,  SCW and Surprise. We don't see a downturn in the west valley. A lot of relocation bookings during the summer.  Adjust your pricing,  make sure you AC is ready
