Refund/booking credit

I booked a place and about a week later cancelled but took the booking credit knowing I was goi g to use that credit immediately when I booked another place.  When I booked the second d place I used by booking credit.  I then a couple of days later shortened by stay by 1 night and recieved a booking credit for the 1 night rather than having it go back on my credit card.  They have said that the policy is so credit the way it was paid for.  Does anyone know a way I can get the 1 night stay cack on my credit card?

Booking credit can only be used as credit for a booking, it will not be refunded.
