URGENT: State regulations

We are in Ohio. I’ve been working closely with an Ohio State Rep regarding his co-sponsored bill Ohio HB563 which adds Short Term Rentals to the Ordinance definition of Rental property in Ohio to protect property owner rights so local jurisdictions cannot outright BAN short term rentals in Ohio.

this matter is being hotly discussed right now, like right now. We need help from Airbnb and Airbnb Hosts in Ohio RIGHT NOW to contribute to the House discussion on this matter. The opposition is loud and organized. Is there anyone out there on Airbnb staff or in charge of some local Ohio host groups who can help organize host contribution NOW before OH HB563 goes to a vote????

Hi @Vicky164 , this does sound like a tricky situation and I hope the vote will go in your favour. What you could do is check if this is being discussed in any of the local Host Clubs and try to organise something there. There it'll be easier to reach Hosts from Ohio specifically than here on the global community.

Ive been trying to watch this bill. Do we have any idea when it will go for a vote?

It will likely not get to a vote. This Legislature is in an election year so all current business retires with the Legislature. In order for the issue to be put in front of the newly sworn in legislature, it will have to be re-introduced and won’t be HB563 any longer.
