VAT in Israel

Hello to everyone and especially to Airbnb managers

Israel entitles foreign tourists with 0% VAT on some services, including hotels and vacation rentals, since we, citizens, must pay 17% this tax. So major hosting websites, like Booking and Expedia provide this necessary information for Israelis on every listing.

Airbnb for some reason after many recuring discussion denies to do the same and "suggest" hosts to print it in the listing description. This puts us, hosts, in unequal positions - some hosts don't provide this information and so, I guess, don't pay taxes for their income and so their prices are lower then those, who do run business in right way.

I'd like to see replies from hosts and from the managers even most.

I am a US citizen married to an Israeli woman, who is a US resident. Our adult daughter was born in the US, but also has an Israeli passport because her mom is Israeli. We were in Israel last year. One hotel we all stayed at together in a room insisted on the VAT even though I made the booking, saying that's the law, but I have heard not everyone interprets it like that. We are going again soon. How are hosts supposed to handle this, if I rent a place for all of us?
