why won't airbnb show the breakdown of which tax is being charged? I have been asking them for years.

Yes, it would be great with a full breakdown.  This might give you an idea though.

Airbnb simply won't tell me whether they are collecting gst for me. I pay the gst and if they are collecting as well that is wrong!

You should be able to see what taxing jurisdictions they are collecting for, although they don't show the percentages:

by the way, I finally did the math and figured it out, no help from airbnb.
