Just added a few house plants and love them! It was fun picking them out. There were so many options!
So do you have house plants? Do you and guest like them? Please share a picture even if lighting isn't good!
Do you prefer artificial or real? How old are they and do you need to re pot them as they grow? These are in the plastic containers that sit inside the ceramic ones. That way after watering them the ceramic pot catches the water and has plastic plug over the hole in the bottom.
@Rachel2099
Just seeing this now! Very impressive! Those are doing so well with what appears to be minimal light! I really love it and thanks so much for uploading a pic.
No one has mentioned the plants but I'm also noticing the very positive experience. For me maybe think, ok this guy has plants he can't be that bad, and a lot of people love plants!
One of my plants in the corner isn't getting quite enough light so will need to get anought and alternate them outside in the shade. I wish I had space for them to vine down.
My plant by the window is doing well.
I think this has really helped create a peaceful environment with attention to detail. Its been stressful time for a lot of people. So guest enter and say, "Wow I love it!"
Pothos is a great plant. It can be put in a bright place such as mine or in a lower level light area. The plants I bought last year (3) have now been split up into 8 plants which I have taken 4 home to my house
I have real plants. Just two and I have to replace them a couple of times a year when they die due to lack of light or overwatering by well meaning guests. Guests like them, though, so it’s worth it.
@Jennifer1774
Yes totally worth it. As I mentioned above one of mine in the corner isn't getting quite enough light. It also appears to require more frequent watering than the little one. I'll get another and try to rotate them out. Guest may be closing one or both blinds. No biggie.
I buy an orchid which once a week you place an icecube in the pot. Doing this, they stay in bloom for almost 6 months. They're the easiest plant to care for and they look a little extra.
@Kimberly718 Thanks for the tip! First time I've heard of this! Six months is a long time!
@John5097 I love house plants and have a few real ones, but also a couple of good fake ones in dark areas where my normal plants wouldn't survive. Plants just add love and oxygen.
Hi @John5097!
I've currently got five spider plants in my flat, with one of them growing some baby plants at the moment, and I expect there will be more to come. I love spider plants because they're so easy to look after. They all need re-potting so I'll try and get a photo once I've done that!
I also have a money plant and a Christmas cactus from my Mum. The Christmas cactus is supposed to flower over the festive season, but mine is always a few months early or late!
@Jenny That's amazing your spider plants are thriving! Such and interesting look to them. Seems like those would to well with a palm and grasses for tropical theme, or even the one with broad leaves shooting up.
We have some cactuses here at the beaches but not very child or pet friendly variety I'm afraid and can early puncture a bike tire. Even then its fun to remember misadventures.
Would love to be more nostalgic but need to update my listings Other Things to Note. "Host likes to ramble." 🙂
I wish I had a bit more room in the Airbnb unit but still needs to be room for guest to operate the blinds.
