Input on Gatherings and party requests

Hello!

my name is Laila. Ive been a host since November. Its been a pleasant experience so far. I have one challenge that keeps presenting itself and wanted to see how other hosts are handling this.

ive been receiving an overwhelming amount of requests for prom send offs, birthday celebrations and guests wanting to use the property for hosting dinner or large family gathering.

i do have a strict no party rule. Its on the listing too. So i kindly decline and state that its against house rules.

How have you guys been handling these kinds of situations? Whats your experience? Has anyone allowed these gatherings at their properties?

One way to discourage these requests is to add a minimum stay. At the moment you seem to have none - you could consider 2 nights or more. You could also apply it only to weekends or to some seasons, depending on when you see these requests (if you want to try a complicated minimum stay structure, you can turn on professional tools in the menu).

A very simple way that I use is to just go to Availability, Minimum nights, Customise by check-in day. Here you can apply minimums of your choice to Fridays and Saturdays (if you think those are the days that will address the issue). If the dates come closer and I see that a minimum stay requirement may be causing nights to remain unbooked, I override it with a 1-night custom trip length to get it booked (hopefully close to the date nobody has time to plan a party!)
