tips on getting rid of smell in a short period of time

Hi all, can you share your tips on getting rid of smells in a shorter period of time? I have a ozone machine but it takes longer to remove the odors. I am thinking to use candles or wall-plug air freshener so the cleaners can clean at the same time .

Any other suggestions or experience in using candles or wall-plug air fresheners?

TIA

Such a situation! Please do not add scented products to the burden of smells that will need to be cleared out,  as it will just take longer for the fresh air to do its work. In addition, scented products can be objectionable and even a health hazard to many people, as @Mike-And-Jane0 said, so best to not use them to try covering up a bad smell. True, ozone machine cannot be used with people in the place, and you've a very short time between guests. The best suggestion I can offer is many open windows, and to make sure the smell has not clung to fabrics and linens. Use your good nose to determine which of them need to be switched out. Best of luck with this, and may all your guests be delightful and respectful

@Yi-Tsang0 Many people hate plug in air fresheners as they just mask any smells with additional chemicals. Sorry but I have no other ideas.

Thanks for sharing.

Get an ozonator. They work wonders, but you'll need a full day to run it and air out.

@Yi-Tsang0 , I had a guest who smoked weed in our listing (against house rules) and the room reeked of it. We have 24 hr blocked the day before and day after checkout to allow us sufficient time to clean and air out smells. We ran the ceiling fan, opened windows and we placed several bowls of vinegar around the room. Luckily, we had 3 days to clear out the odor. It worked… we have since then purchased an ozone air cleaner as a backup should the need arise.

Hello Ana, thanks.  unfortunately we only have a few hours after they check out and I do have an ozone machine. But we cannot run it while the cleaner is inside.

Maybe essential oil diffuser is an option

Thanks. @Kitty-and-Creek0 , we will try running ozone machine next time for maybe like 30 mins after cleaning and keep all window open after it is finished. Hopefully by the next guest checks in, the smell is already gone.

This time is also a bit different is because the guest asked for 1.5 hour early check in. Next time we should allow us more time to process the smell if we detect it.

thanks

This sounds like a good idea, given the time crunch. I hope it works well for you!
