Airbnb council bans are spreading in the UK, where to invest?

If you were to start an Airbnb business with a one-bedroom flat, where would you buy it? I had my eyes on Glasgow but now I am concerned short-term holiday rentals will be banned from tourist areas in the city, as councils are starting to pass legislation asking owners to apply for permission. Thanks for sharing your experience with me.

Taking a one-bedroom flat off the housing market just to run an Airbnb business in the UK seems like a pretty awful thing to do at this point. There don't seem to be any places that are desirable for tourists that don't have severe shortages of affordable housing, and you don't want to be  part of the problem. But if you can't think of any other way to make money, I guess your best bet would be to choose the city that has the most stringent STR regulations, as those probably won't get suddenly more restrictive a year or two down the line.
