Bed size

Do you think I would attract more guests if I upgraded one of a double beds to to a king size?

Hello @Sharon2048

If you have the room for it, then I would say that yes this would  be something that a lot of guests would appreciate.

There are not many filters for guests to tick on Airbnb when they make a search but there was a recent addition last year which was to be able to search listings that offered king size beds! So yes, go for it!

One thing to bear in mind though Sharon, a king size bed in the US is bigger than a UK or French size King bed so make sure you clearly state the size of the bed on your listing to avoid US guests complaining that it was too small!

All the best

Thank you that is a great help

That's a great little side note @Joelle43 - I did know that european bed sizes were different to UK sizes but not US.

I also get confused with queen and king and  superking.

Is there much of a difference in price with double/king @Sharon2048

A year ago I tried to convince airbnb to add a feature allowing for precise size indications in cm and/or inches for the beds. There are too many standards around the world, and king sizes or queen sizes do vary from country to country. Double bed width can vary from 120 to 180cm (4ft to 6ft). Airbnb thought that was an interesting idea, but never did anything about it, as usual. Airbnb doesn't seem to care anymore about improving the quality of its service and is only interested in maximizing its earnings (nearly 20% between guest and host!!!).

Hi @Tom928 👋

Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing your idea. Perhaps you could share your feedback with Airbnb. They can’t respond individually, but they’ll pass it on to the teams who are working to help make Airbnb better for everyone. 😊
