Can't turn off Airbnb.org Refugee Stay

During initial setup of my listing I was unable to select an option to disable this so went ahead and completed the setup and reached out to support. When I go into my listing the switch to disable refugee/disaster stays is missing and if I uncheck both boxes the option to save becomes greyed out. So far the only answers I have received were to turn it off myself but as you can see I am unable to do that. Has anyone else seen this issue before or does anyone have any thoughts on how to solve this. i have tried multiple browsers with and without addons/extensions.

Thanks for any help.

Your profile says "Guest"...have you actually published the listing yet? Not sure you can turn it off until you publish. Once the listing is published, go to:

-Listing Editor

-Click Preferences Icon (3lines top right)

Turn Off Airbnb.org Stays

https://www.airbnb.com/help/search?q=turn%20off%20airbnb.org

The process if different if you will be only Hosting emergency stays, or Hosting both emergency stays and regular stays:

Stop Hosting Airbnb.org Emergency Stays

https://www.airbnb.com/help/article/2891

As you can see from the above screenshot and the new one I attached that is the menu I am in. Additionally I do not have any reservations that would prevent me from turning that off.

From what I can find on other comments there should be a switch on this screen to disable this but it is not present for me. I did also check on the AirBnB app and the switch is missing there as well for me.

@Scott2246

Are you offering only Airbnb.org stays, or wanting to do regular stays as well? Can you post the listing URL?

I am trying to do regular stays only, but as it wont let me disable the Airbnb.org stays they can not be booked.

https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/1249475582122920693 is the listing, I am attempting to set it up for the NFL Draft and if all goes well future packer games.

@Scott2246

When did you publish the listing?

I originally set this up 18 days ago but have been going back and forth with support for about that long as well to try and find a way to disable this setting.

@Scott2246

Oh man...ok. Couple of things to try. Ultimately, you may need to permanently delete this listing and create a new one if you can't get this resolved with Airbnb CS.

Try this first:

 Log out (on all affected devices (phone/desktop/tablet and close browsers)

  • Delete and reinstall app but DON"T login on App
  • Open ONE new window on a desktop device
  • Login again on the ONE desktop using your email address (not phone number)

Try going to the preferences again and see if the disable/deselect button is there.

Thanks again for your help here, unfortunately the issue remains. I added clearing the cookies on all the browsers as well along with the log out and restarting of both the devices.

My concern with recreating the listing is the even during initial setup I was unable to disable this. To even advance past that section I was stuck selecting an option. If I do not hear back from CS in the next day or two I will try that though.

@Scott2246

That is odd since I just setup 2 other listings and never saw the option for Airbnb.org appear? It might be something new and it's messing up your listing unfortunately. What is weird your listing profile doesn't say "Host" it still says "Guest", so it's almost like the system doesn't even recognize you as a Host. Airbnb just did a new software release and this might have something to do with it...

Can you deselect the option you have selected now? "People Impacted by Disaster"

Ya as I dug around with this there is at least one other weird thing going on where the Identity Verification shows as "Your identity is not fully verified" but when I click into it, it says thank you for verifying your identity.

@Scott2246

Ahaaa...so they probably haven't verified you as a Host! I would contact them about that first. That could be why this is happening.

It shows both under guest and host so I was unsure if it applied as this seems more like a technical error on the website. An odd note is that while the page is loading I can very briefly see the switch to turn off but then it goes away for me.

Apologies I missed the question below the picture, if you look back at the top if I deselect that option the save button is greyed out and does not allow me to proceed.

@Scott2246

Ok...got it...

Work with CS about the "verified" - "not verified" issue and ask why your profile still says "Guest" and not Host.
