Can we list a property before we close on it?

We are purchasing a property from a woman who is already hosting with AirBnB.  We are setting up our own account so we can start hosting on this same property.  Can we have our account go live before we close?  In part, we want to do this so the existing rentals can be transferred to us.  Is this possible?

@Hanna2104

You can not transfer excisting reservations to your account. The are made on the account of the current host. It means they have to be cancelled (penalties applies) and guest can rebook with you (if they want).

Alternative:

If current host agrees, you could act as a co-host for those reservations to manage them, but ofcourse then there is a risk for the current host (not being the owner of the property anymore)

You can start creating new listings on your own account and even publish them, but maybe wait to accept reservations when the deal is finished (keep clalender closed)

Speak to the owner they should have made it clear to you that you can't transfer the bookings @Hanna2104  It would be unfair to guests for this to happen as they booked in good faith based on the owners reviews and ratings and how they manage the property.

@Emiel1  has given you good advice. Speak to the owner about his/her plans for guests who will be staying once you complete on the property. To be honest they should have only opened their calendar up for three months in advance so they did not take bookings they couldn't honour.
