Cancelations and payouts

Cancelations and payouts

Hello

I have someone that has canceled their booking the day before their arrival and my policy is moderate so they only get a refund if they cancel 5 days before arrival.
However now someone has requested to book for those dates as the dates are now free, does that mean I will get two payouts for those dates as the other guest canceled and the new one has booked?
I would love to hear from anyone who has experienced this before 🙂

@Isabella403 Yes you will get two payouts minus the cleaning fee on one. You could be altruistic and offer a refund to the cancelling guest or you could just take the money as a windfall profit.

Alternatively as a half way house you could offer to reschedule the guest who has cancelled.

Thank you for your insight, those are great suggestions!

Personally if I got a replacement booking . I would offer a refund to the initial guest who paid (after second guest stays and you get paid. @Isabella403

in my view ethically it wouldn't be right to accept income twice to cover the same booking period.

Thank you for you response, I totally agree, I wasn’t sure if the initial payment would automatically be canceled by Airbnb.
