Critique My Tiny Cabin in the Woods Listing

Critique My Tiny Cabin in the Woods Listing

Hey host friends,

Could use your eyes and expertise. I recently left the noise behind and built a semi-off-the-grid tiny cabin deep in the woods. It’s quiet, simple, and full of soul.

Here’s the listing: https://airbnb.ca/h/petitemaisonrouge

I know the photos need work (they’re next on the list), but I’d really appreciate your thoughts on what they are conveying so far. And does the listing description land? Does it feel true? Inviting?

So far, I’ve welcomed mostly couples on romantic getaways—birthdays, anniversaries, even a honeymoon—and a few solo female travellers, which has been lovely. But I'd really like to connect with more adventurers, nature lovers, and dog folks. We’re in the middle of a trails and lakes haven, but that message isn’t quite shining through yet.

If you’ve got a minute and a kind eye, I’d be grateful for any thoughts or suggestions.

Thanks in advance, Joe

Congratulations!  Very Cute Cabin.

Suggestions

Living room Kitchenette area honestly I don't see how even two comfortably use.  In the pictures the only sitting area appears to be under the big tv.  You mention cooking appliances in the cabinet but I don't see a table or counter to use?

To encourage pet owners little things dog bed, dog bowl and something to wipe dirty dog feet.

If dish washing is a challenge at times, best bet eliminate it with paper products.

Since your bathroom is unique haha.  Take pictures what an outdoor shower looks like we can have crazy imaginations. lol

Just an idea think about if your comfortable allowing your indoor shower at set times.  The shower resources are probably the concern for longer stays.

One review and you mention cooking and eating outside.  A nice picture of outside dining table for two.

Change your cover photo, you have beautiful outdoor shots

Put that you offer WIFI at the top of your description.  Cabins and WIFI is special

Create some Guidebooks that highlight the hiking and nearby activities.

For the appliance use maybe like one of those wheeled butler tables.  Then its also multi use Guests can wheel in the living room as a table for holding morning coffee cups and toast lol  From Hawaii small spaces are typical so we learn to be inventive.

The other thing we used to do when outside is the primary table for eating those outside area heaters with propane gas work if not too cold

Thanks so much, Marie—really appreciate you taking the time to look through the listing and share such thoughtful suggestions!

We actually do offer a little Puppy Setup for guests who book with their dog—bed, blanket, bowls, treats, towel for muddy paws, doggo bags and extra leash just in case! But you’re right... making that more explicit in the listing could really help show just how pet-welcoming we are. Thanks for that gem!

The rest of your notes are all duly noted with thanks. You’ve given me some great food for thought—from cover photo updates to capturing the outdoor shower in a way that leaves a little less to the imagination (lol). Always learning and growing with every stay, and advice like this makes all the difference.

Thanks again, Joe
