Guest's experience with city officials, concerned about negative profiling and neighbourhood safety

Hello Airbnb Hosts,

I’m inquiring if other hosts in the Bronzeville, Washington Park and Englewood areas have experienced the above-mentioned with City officials both CPD and CFD? To be honest, the first one or two times a guest told me this I sort of didn’t believe, under estimated and/or over-looked them.  But, now it’s becoming more frequent.  My guests are walking down the street minding their business when suddenly they’re singled out and told that “they do not belong over here as it’s not a safe area.” They were perfectly fine and didn’t see a cause for concern until what you would deem a trusted source startles them.  I know the issue is bigger than me, thanks to the “segregation that exists here,” but my area is actually rather desegregated. I believe the Mount Greenwood people can’t handle it and are starting mess as always.

Any suggestions, recommendations or fixes to address or handle this situation going forward?

Any and all comments would help.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @JayTee0I'm sorry to hear about this situation. It might be a good idea to join a Local Host Club in your area and discuss this situation with fellow hosts. >>Here's the link where you can find them.
