Some guests are requesting to accomodate pets, but I don't have space for them , but there is balcony in my property But am afraid if they make pets to sleep on the bed that may dirt the bed because of their fur, so that may cause in convenience to future guest , so think about this I genuinely reject such requests .so I wanted to know to how other host are managing the guests having pets
Hi Kovarthini,
Many hosts handle pet-related requests by setting clear policies in their listings. Some explicitly state that pets are not allowed to avoid any misunderstandings. If pets are permitted, they often include specific rules like keeping pets off furniture or requiring crating when left alone.
For those who allow pets, protective covers on beds and furniture help prevent fur or damage. Offering designated pet-friendly spaces, like a pet bed or mat, can also guide guests toward appropriate behavior. If rejecting such requests, explaining the concern about maintaining a clean and comfortable environment for future guests often helps guests understand.
In cases where pets aren’t allowed, suggestinKovarthinig nearby pet-friendly accommodations or boarding services can show care and maintain goodwill with the guest. Thoughtful communication remains the key to balancing guest expectations with the host's limitations. If you’d like, I can help draft a professional message to decline pet-related requests gracefully.
I hope this helps.
All the best,
Upfish Management
Thanks for your response I removed the pets allowed from the amenities listing but it still shows in my property amenities ,please help to remove them
Hello @Kovarthini0
I've been onto your listing and it clearly states that you allow pets (it also says that the guest needs to notify you if they are bringing more than two!) so if you don't want guests to bring their pets with them, you need to go onto your listing and tick the box that you don't accept pets. It's under House rules.
Have you received a booking request or just a booking enquiry? Have you put in a pet fee to cover the extra cost of cleaning?
Joëlle
I received a request, but am afraid of the fur and smell of those little ones , so I removed the pets allowed from the amenities from my listing but it still shows in my property amenities
hello @Kovarthini0
I've just been onto your listing again and the "furry friends welcome" is indeed still appearing! Look at the screen shot below and check that you have pushed the cursor in the right direction to disallow pets as shown:
Find House rules and it's here.
Joëlle
Thank you @Joelle43 for the screenshot, it helps to see exactly where to find that option!
@Kovarthini0 Could you give try to follow the steps Joelle suggested please? It should help clarify where you stand on pets for future bookings. 🙂
Let us know how you get on!
Emilie
