Guidebook - How to update a business listing name associated with an address?

My business partner and I purchased the hotel in late 2020/early 2021 and immediately changed the business name. I need assistance adding my restaurant to the guest guidebook because it still shows the former name, General Wolfe Inn. Both Hotel Wolfe Island and our restaurant operate under the same name. I can find my business when searching for locations however, when I select it and try to add it as a point of interest, the name changes back to General Wolfe Inn. How can I update the business name associated with my address in the guidebook? I have attached three screenshots to help illustrate the situation.Hotel Wolfe Island appears in the search.Hotel Wolfe Island appears in the search.

The former business name associated with the address appears by default. The former business name associated with the address appears by default.

I manually added the address to include my restaurant in the guidebook as a temporary measure.I manually added the address to include my restaurant in the guidebook as a temporary measure.

I believe Airbnb uses a 3rd party vendor/software for the Guidebooks. Not sure where they get "feed" for creating the entries. I would guess probably Google? You can see if your new name comes up for the restaurant in Google. Just a guess, but if it is Google, then you would need someone to post a review and photos under the new name for the 3rd party feed to show it under the new name when trying to create the entry. Good thinking to use the address until you can get it resolved 👍

Hi @Tom4227

Congratulations to you and your business partner, that is a very exciting venture! In regards to the guidebook, in addition to @Joan2709's excellent advice, I found a similar question from earlier this year here along with some tips on how to resolve it:

The guidebook objects are dependent on Google. So I've got a couple of questions and then some troubleshooting steps for you to follow:

Are the names updated on Google?

If it is not updated on Google, then you'll need to head there to update the content.
If the name is updated on Google and the issue still persists, please follow these steps:

Log out (on all affected devices/browsers)
Close all browser windows/tabs (on all affected devices/browsers)
Open ONE new window (on all affected devices/browsers)
Clear cache and cookies and browser history (on all affected devices/browsers)
Delete & re-install app (if applicable)
Log in with the email address associated with the account.
It was suggested then that you should head to proceed with guidebook > Add to guidebook> Add the new restaurant and also remove the previous restaurant name from your guidebook.

I hope this helps, but please do let us know how you get on. 🙂

Emilie
