I'm being careful of what I say here because I don't know the audience and the other party may have visibility, and there may be a law suit. Airbnb has been nothing but an obstacle in the way of doing what's right. I was begging them (Airbnb) to challenge both listings to provide proof of ownership of the property, and they would rather sit on their hands and let the other party commit fraud against the potential renters of the fake listing.
To answer a previous question, the other party does not have physical access to the property.
The listing is currently down, I don't know how or why it was taken down, or if its temporarily or permanently down. There has been no communication from airbnb regarding the fake listing.
There has to be a better way to have listings taken down. Otherwise what's stopping someone from listing the White House or Graceland. Then when someone reports it, someone in India decides to take no action... the process is broken.
