I would like to meet with someone in San Mateo, ca for advise on becoming a host

Hello,

I don't know what the laws are to be a host in San Mateo, CA.  I have a 3bed/1 1/2 bath home and would like to rent entire house as Airbnb.  I don't know how to determine pricing and what the consequences are tax wise if I become a host?  Is there someone in San Mateo who has experience with short term rentals and can share how they got started, I'd would love to hear from you!

Thanks!

Armand

You don't need to employ a local host to tell you this.

1. Look on your government website under short term rentals it will tell you whether it's permitted. If you live in an HOA check your lease

2. Look at comparable properties in your area to get an idea of pricing

3. You need to speak to an accountant or tax adviser about tax implications

If you want to chat to hosts in your area. Join a host group for your area.

Thank you for the advice and tips!
