Listing Suspension

hello all my fellow Airbnb hosts! I need help and some thoughts on this very unjust listing suspension situation I’m dealing with.  I’ve had both my listings suspended after I had a situation with my guests, I have 2 units on the same floor and one of my guests left their door unlocked. I had my other guest checking in to another unit, and he decided to not look for the unit number AT ALL and decided to try any unit. He ended up walking into my OTHER unit and since that guest didn’t lock their door the guest freaked out.

Now, this is a total freak accident but the guest that didn’t lock the door then called me and proceeded to tell me how unsafe he felt and reported my listing for feeling unsafe. The guest that walked in messaged me, apologizing and saying he just walked into a random unit which had been opened. NOTHING to do with me!! Since the guest reported my listing for being unsafe even though I had nothing to do with all of this I have since been suspended with no hope on being reinstated. Now I have Airbnb asking about my camera situation, if I have any in the unit and where they are located around the unit, I have no idea how much this guest has escalated this situation and it’s totally unacceptable how Airbnb just takes the side of the guest when my other guest IN THE AIRBNB THREAD CONFIRMS IT WAS HIS MISTAKE AND THE DOOR WAS LEFT OPEN. I really am desperate for some answers and how I can get this resolved. Airbnb is treating me like I’m the problem and I’ve done something terribly wrong. I can’t believe this.

Following. We have individual rooms and has always been a bit concerned about this bc often I see guest leaving doors open and unlocked. I’m glad they feel safe in my listings but this is not proper guest behavior when booking a shared space. Following your post for insight. Sorry this happened.

Thanks for your reply and your support. It’s very disheartening that a host can be suspended when it’s a situation between 2 guests and a total mistake/misunderstanding. When I spoke to the Airbnb rep after the initial incident happened, they even told me how the guest that was walked in on was being rude and trying to get a refund from Airbnb for a guest walking in on him when he left his door unlocked. So he clearly didn’t get his way and decided to report my listing
